Atmospheres
The Mesosphere

The mesosphere extends 50 to 85 km above Earth's surface. Meteors burn up at this level. Clouds are rarely found in this layer. Noctilucent clouds are the sole exception. These clouds can only be seen on a clear summer's night!
Thermoshpere

The thermosphere, with its dancing lights or aurora,extends beyond 80 km high. Auroras are best seen at the poles. They occur when solar storms pass the earth. Air in the thermosphere is so thin that one molecule could travel over 30 km before crashing into another! Temperatures can soar up to 1800 degrees!

Stratosphere

The stratosphere sits 20 to 50 km above the surface.
The ozone layer,Earth's prime absorber of ultraviolet light is within the lower stratosphere.
Air in the stratosphere is so thin and cold that very little moisture is available for clouds to form.
The only type of clouds found here is the nacreous or the mother-of-pearl cloud. Nacreous clouds,which form close to the poles and above mountain ranges, filter sunlight in a way that gives them a luminous spectrum of colour.

Amplified warming

What is it?
Increasing the amount of greenhouse gases intensifies the greenhouse effect.
This side of the globe simulates conditions today, roughly two centuries after the Industrial Revolution began.

Amplified Greenhouse effects
*Higher concentration of co2 and other greenhouse gases trap more infrared energy in the atmosphere than occurs naturally. The additional heat further warms the atmosphere and Earth's surface.

*There is no hidden heat source.Chemicals in the simulated atmosphere create a greenhouse effect.

*They also trap more incoming heat than occurs in the Earth's atmosphere.

*The warming effect you feel is greater than what the atmosphere is likely to experience.

Natural warming

What is it?
The greenhouse effect is a natural warming process. Co2 and a certain other gases are always present in the atmosphere. These gases create a warming effect that has some similarity to the warming inside a greenhouse, hence the name greenhouse effect.

1. Northern Regions are warmed by heat transported in the ocean.
2. This ocean circulates is driven by cold,dense water sinking in the far north.
3. 11.600 years ago, this warmth suddenly returns and less than a decade, the region return to its ice age conditions. 4. The water in the Northern Ocean melted and re-established.
5. from 12.800 to 11.600 years ago,it is known as the young Dryas period. It sent the north hemisphere back and made the conditions like the last ice age. Without Northward transport of cold water, air became colder for 1000 years.

Hi everyone. This is a blog to tell everyone more about climate and weather.
Firstly, what is climate??
from the dictionary definition, the word climate means the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years.

well, it may seem wordy but let's break it down.
It simply means the weather conditions of a region due to certain conditions.
